Friday Finds: On Friends

Maggie Mason, of Mighty Girl, recently posted a Piers Morgan quote about how he identifies his true friends and then she asked her readers what their metric was for how you know a friend is, indeed, a friend. To read the whole post and the reader comments, click here.

What is your metric?

My response was: "Will they help you through a particularly challenging car problem or debilitating medical issue? You find out who your friends are when you are feeling at your most helpless and inconvenient. I guess it comes down to sacrifice."

What about you? How do you determine  your true friends?  Tell me in the comments.

In the meantime, here is a round up of other thoughts on friends from around the internet.

Have a fantastic, friend-filled weekend!

  1. how perfectly timed/in sync with my thoughts! Thanks for posting. I'm thinking for me it has to do with total trust and being on the same wavelength; despite differences in personality, views, etc. sometimes that one in a million is truly a gift. netty

  2. I get really attached to people whom I find I can just sit in calm and mutual silence with. I think you know a really deep bond has been created when you don't feel the need to say anything to each other all the time, and take comfort in even just their presence.

  3. I totally agree with Mugdha comment. You know you have a good friend when you can sit around & do nothing & still feel like your having a blast.
